FAQ

Sight Bulb works both indoors AND outdoors! Sight Bulb is weather resistant and rated for temperatures down to -30°c. Direct exposure to rain is not recommended so please place your Sight Bulb in a protective outdoor sconce or light fixture.

Sight Bulb fits the standard E26/E27/Medium Base light bulb socket. This is the most common light bulb socket found in most North American homes.

Sight Bulb only uses around 6W of power max which is less than any regular light bulb, so there is no need to worry about whether the socket will be powerful enough for Sight Bulb.

Sight Bulb requires a smartphone running Android or iOS for setup. This includes all the major smartphone manufacturers like Apple, Google, Samsung, Motorola, OnePlus, etc.

There is no app available for tablets, PCs or Macs at this time. The app will technically run on a Chromebook but many features will not work properly, we do not support this option.

Yes, since Sight Bulb is powered by the light bulb socket, it will need to remain switched on for Sight Bulb to work.

Sight Bulb has a built-in light that can be scheduled to turn on and off at set times each day. This feature allows you to control Sight Bulb’s light while keeping power to the physical light socket switched on.

Nope! When power is restored, Sight Bulb will automatically re-connect to Wi-Fi and resume functioning as normal! There is no need to set it up all over again. If Sight Bulb loses Wi-Fi connection, it will continue to record until it can re-connect to Wi-Fi.

To factory reset a Sight Bulb, make sure it is screwed in and has power. Then, use the included reset tool to hold down the “Reset” button on the top of Sight Bulb. Keep holding the button until the light on the front of Sight Bulb flashes on then off. You can now release the reset button, your Sight Bulb has been factory reset! If you have lost the reset tool, you can use the sim ejector tool from a smartphone, or a small paperclip/sewing needle.

To factory reset a Sight Bulb PRO, make sure it is screwed in and has power. Then, hold down the “Reset” button on the top of Sight Bulb PRO until the light flashes on then off. You can now release the reset button, your Sight Bulb PRO has been factory reset!

If you are setting up a Sight Bulb, choose “Wi-Fi Camera”

If you are setting up a Sight Bulb PRO, choose “Dual-Band Wi-Fi Camera”

This difference exists because of the Dual-Band Wi-Fi chip in Sight Bulb PRO.

To enable push notifications on Sight Bulb, open the Sight Bulb app, tap on your camera, then tap the settings gear icon at the top right. Go to “Alert Settings” and enable the type of motion alerts you would like to receive.

You can connect up to 10 Sight Bulb or Sight Bulb PRO cameras to the same account on the app with no extra cost!

You can also share these cameras with up to 12 friends or family members of your choosing.

All i Intelligent Security cameras use microSD cards for storage.

We offer a 64GB microSD card specifically designed for Sight Bulb and factory formatted to work with your device. You can get one here!

Other 3rd party microSD cards (up to 128GB) should also work with Sight Bulb but we cannot guarantee compatibility.

A 64GB microSD card will allow Sight Bulb to record 7 days of Full HD video. (This seems low, further testing in progress)

Sight Bulb uses very little data thanks to its efficient compression algorithms and direct video streaming from the camera to your smartphone.

Remotely viewing a Sight Bulb uses around 50KB/s of data in HD mode, or 90KB/s in Full HD mode. You can toggle between these in the app by tapping the little “HD” / “FHD” button on the live feed.

Sight Bulb will also use your internet when it first turns to sync the date and time, and when performing a firmware update. These firmware updates are started manually.
